Paper Flags
Free demo of Paper Flags: a strategic board game about folding, unfolding, and fighting for row 9!
Think you know how your pieces move? Unfold one and everything changes. A quiet advance becomes a sweeping strike. A defensive wall becomes three flags on enemy ground, and the game is over.
This is a free, timed sneak peek of the full release. If you enjoy it, wishlisting on Steam is the best way to support the project and get notified on launch day.
What is Paper Flags?
Paper Flags is a two-player strategy game on a 9×9 board. Every piece starts folded, slipping forward on a diagonal. Unfold it and it becomes a flag, moving like a rook, threatening the whole rank or file.
Win by planting three flags on your opponent’s back row, reducing them to three pieces or fewer, or backing them into a stalemate. But watch the threat system: when your opponent is one move from victory, you must answer or face overrun.
Familiar if you love chess-like tactics. Different the moment you start folding and unfolding.

The rules are precise but readable. A quick skim before your first game goes a long way, especially for fold, unfold, and threat.
